Visionary Leadership is a reality when strategic management is in Assistance.

Leadership is visionary influence for an organizational success or effectiveness. Management is strategic performance to bring about the efficiency. The leadership dream would be a reality with people organized in a framework of to achieve a common endeavor. 

A good leader could be a good manager as well and such a synchrony would definitely make a better outcome. However a good leader does not necessarily be a good manager. On the other hand good managers does not need leadership traits to drive the wheels to efficiency. Overall visionary leadership which is really innovative and charismatic to compel the people to thrive towards efficiency is seldom seen. On this background leaders are rare and managers are common. That is why the common people think that “Leaders are born and cannot be bred” and biologically also it is not untrue (Tamara,2011).

Nevertheless the managers are visible everywhere in the organizations and they could be possessing  leadership traits which make them perform better than others. Perhaps the managers could be viable as the prominent drivers of the organizational success. In the overall picture the management could appear as overwhelmingly Important. This outlook will prevail till the organization is successful. However it should not be forgotten that the the leadership is the foundation for the outstanding  performance. Deviation from the leadership is deviation from the vision and it could lead to progressive collapse of the performance as vision is more important to keep up the performance as Pondy has argued “ we lost sight of the deep structure”.

          

The visionary leadership is like a drama idea which has to be articulated into a form of communication  to emotion and action( Westland & Mintzberg,1989)

Repetition <==> Repersentation <==>  Assistance

The repetition is the key in visionary to develop strategic perception in reality. Therefore the leadership should have language ability to bring the idea in to the gut-feel level. The representation is the actor’s job which is similar strategic managers job. The performance of the actor transformed the repetition in to a success. In this context it could be argued that strategic manager also should be an effective leader having innovative traits to make it a success. There will not be any use of a drama without spectators having emotional assistance. The team leader with a vision and strategic manager cannot succeed  without loyal followers. 

However in business the leadership vision should be dynamic and contemporary. It has to be realized that same drama cannot be staged everyday. When the Effective leadership has amalgamated with strategic management the product or the outcome may appear ideal. The ideals are born to the world but would not perpetually exist simply because the followers or the spectators change and everything is dynamic. Therefore if the idealistic capacities characteristic of a visionary leader become overwhelming he may not be accepted as a leader any longer. So strategic management has to dynamically coexist  with visionary leadership in order to thrive longer.
